Financial Document API

Answers from financial documents,
with the evidence attached.

Send a question and the documents it should be answered from. The API finds the exact figures, does the calculation, and returns the answer with its sources, the values it used, the calculation trace and any conflicts it found. Your analysts check the work instead of redoing it.

Your documents

What it reads.

The documents your desk already works from — filed, scanned or sent to you in a package.

01

Filings and disclosures

Annual and quarterly reports, current reports, proxies, prospectuses and offering memoranda, municipal disclosures.

02

Statements and packages

Audited and interim statements, management accounts, compliance certificates, lender and trustee reports.

03

Deal and fund documents

CIMs and data rooms, credit agreements and indentures, GP quarterly reports and capital account statements.

04

Statistical and government releases

Economic and fiscal releases, with the vintage and basis of every figure stated.

05

Scanned and historical archives

Image-only PDFs and old tables, read as they are.

Formats, languages and volumes for your license are confirmed in your order form. Early Adopter covers up to 20,000 document pages; see the usage limits.

What every answer returns

Every answer comes with its evidence.

Not just a number: everything your reviewer needs to check it in minutes, and everything your audit trail needs to keep.

01

The answer

Value, unit, currency and scale, period and basis (as reported or restated).

02

Sources

Document, page and table for the answer and for every input.

03

Values used

Each input figure, with its own source.

04

Calculation trace

The steps from inputs to answer, re-runnable.

05

Conflicts

Where documents, periods or versions disagree. Both sources are shown, along with which one was used and why.

06

Version and request ID

For your audit trail and support tickets.

How a question flows

One question in. One answer out, with its evidence.

You submit a question against a document set, then collect the result when it’s ready. Questions can take several minutes, because the API reads, computes and checks before it answers.

Illustrative — fictional company and figures. Exact field names are confirmed at onboarding.

You send

A plain-language question, and the document set it should be answered from. Your documents are loaded into document sets at onboarding.

{
"question": "What was operating margin in fiscal 2025, and how does it compare with fiscal 2024 as restated?",
  "document_set": "ds_examplecorp",
  "request_id": "a3f1c2e0"
}
  • Plain language. Ask the way your analysts already ask.
  • Your documents only. Each question names the set it is answered from.
  • Your own ID. Echoed back for your audit trail.

You get back

What each answer carries, structured for your reviewers, your systems and your agents.

  • The answer with its period and basis.
  • Sources: the document, page and table behind each figure.
  • Values used and the calculation, step by step.
  • Conflicts found between documents, and which figure was used.

The exact response format is confirmed in your order form before you sign.

Keys and document sets are issued to licensed customers at kickoff. There’s no public sandbox: access starts with a license, and the acceptance plan is how you see fit on your own documents.

How we prove it

Tested on your documents, not just ours.

Every license and engagement is measured on your own documents and on questions your team has already answered. We agree the pass criteria with you first — figures right within an agreed tolerance, every citation checked against its page, known conflicts flagged — and report the results as measured, misses included.

  • Pilots: Acceptance-tested on your own documents before you pay the balance. Fixed fee, capped.
  • Enterprise: Acceptance test on your own documents, agreed in writing before you sign.
  • Early Adopter: Your acceptance plan is agreed in week one, and six months of development support are aimed at passing it.

Enterprise

Your cloud account

Enterprise deployments in your own cloud, delivered as signed, encrypted releases.

Enterprise only

On-premises

Run in your own data center, scoped with you after discovery. What crosses your network boundary is shown in the data-flow diagram before you sign.

Integration

From your AI platform

Already run an internal AI platform or assistant? Call the API from it and get structured answers and evidence back for your own interface, agents and pipelines.

New versions ship only after passing your agreed test set, and every release decision is logged.

FAQ

Questions we hear.

Is there a free trial?

No. Keys are issued to verified businesses after a signed order, and there’s no low-cost tier. Here’s why.

Can we see it work on our documents before we commit?

Yes — that’s what the acceptance test is for. You bring questions your team has already answered, with the documents behind them, and we agree the pass criteria with you first. How it is scoped depends on the offer:

  • Enterprise: Acceptance test on your own documents, agreed in writing before you sign.
  • Early Adopter: Your acceptance plan is agreed in week one, and six months of development support are aimed at passing it.
  • Pilots ($40,000–$75,000): Acceptance-tested on your own documents before you pay the balance. Fixed fee, capped.
Is this investment advice?

No. It’s a research tool; qualified staff should review outputs before you rely on them for investment, credit, legal or regulatory decisions.

Who sees our documents and questions?

They’re used only to provide the service to you and never to improve it for another customer. Details are on the Trust page.

Can our own agents or AI platform call it?

Yes. Responses are structured for machine use, so your interface, agents and pipelines can read the answer and its evidence directly.

What happens after six months?

Renew for another six months at $20,000 on the same terms, including development support, or move to Enterprise.

What are the usage limits?

Early Adopter includes 3 billion tokens* over the six-month term, up to 1 billion a month, across up to 20,000 document pages. Extra usage is $4.00 per million tokens*, bought in $1,000 blocks. Enterprise usage is sized in your order form; the hosted option includes 120 billion tokens* a year. See pricing .

*Token counts include calculation and document-processing tokens: alongside the text each answer reads and writes, the calculations and document processing it runs are counted as token-equivalents. One rate for every token. Answers that fail or come back empty aren’t charged, and no single answer is charged more than 2 million tokens. Most questions use between half a million and two million tokens.

Can a platform show answers to its subscribers?

Yes, under a platform license. See how it works for platforms.
